With dozens of new products among the hundreds on display, this year’s Advanced Manufacturing UK series of focused exhibitions (Birmingham NEC, 27 - 28 April – visit www.advancedmanufacturinguk.com) could herald a new era of industrial revolution! Here’s a taste of what’s new and on view.
At Mtec - the UK’s only event dedicated to instrumentation and techniques for practical measurement as required in control, engineering, processing, physics, chemistry, utility and the life sciences sector - Hamamatsu Photonics will display a new range of CMOS linear image sensors (dual inline and surface mount types) offering high-speed response while maintaining high resolution. Also new is a 12-bit digital output colour sensor Photo IC, a range of high power laser diode products and the new LC-L2 UV curing systems.
Visitors to the stand of National Instruments – a company that pioneered the concept of virtual instrumentation – there will be the new NI LabVIEW 2009 platform-wide software update, the WSN NI wireless sensor network platform, new generation CompactDAQ for USB applications – and more.
While transducer solutions specialist RDP Electronics will show the latest developments in sensor technology (it offers a comprehensive range of transducers), Weldlogic will display a computer-controlled arc-welding package for precision automatic welding.
Walk through to the section for Machine Building and Automation - the recognised event for products, systems, components and services utilised by the machine building and advanced manufacturing industry – and Delta Line will show Portescap’s new Athlonix brush DC motors alongside the Portescap nuvoDisc flat brushless DC miniature motors and the new DPM high torque brushless 42 mm motor with integrated Hall sensors.
HepcoMotion will use a specially developed demonstration unit to show that with the correct choice of linear actuator, each axis can operate optimally – the demonstrator will show the PDU2 linear actuator operating as the X-axis foundation of the system. Also on show will be the new PSD80 which uses Herculane wheel technology.
Linear technology expert igus has developed a new breed of hybrid linear bearing that both rolls and slides. Called DryLin WJRM, the innovative system reduces driving force significantly. Find out more at the NEC.
Leveraging decades of experience in motion control technology, Newport Spectra-Physics has developed its high performance Hexapod 6-axis micropositioning system. This is sure to draw the crowds.
At Practical Vacuum - the principal event for all aspects of vacuum technology - Bronkhorst will focus on the new Cori-Fill technology for compact, single point responsibility, dosage/filling liquid delivery systems, the new release Mass Stream mass flow meter/controller based on thermal principles, and the latest releases of Gas-View and Liqui-View flow-meters utilising vortex technology.
Also, Edwards – Precision Plus Vacuum Parts will show why it’s one of the world’s largest independent manufacturers of vacuum pump replacement parts ; and Trumpf will focus on its prowess in DC, MF and RF power supply technology.
VTX – the show that targets expert and potential users of vision systems - will feature, for example, Alrad Imaging’s Cyclocam high-speed camera technology for automated production line applications, its new compact Digital GigE camera series and the new e2v AViiVA EM1 linescan camera for industrial machine vision applications. The stand will also feature Matrix Vision’s latest GigE camera, the mvBlueCOUGAR-X.
• Advanced Manufacturing UK 2010, taking place at the Birmingham NEC on 27 & 28 April 2010.
